Recently my friend in Beijing, China decided to make the big move and do what many dream of and few dare to do - embark upon her very first startup. Hers as you’ve already figured out, is a fashion startup - Arteasta.net, - which aims to showcase emerging designers from across China, as well as ambitiously develop her very own fashion line, called Lei.
When your aspiration is that grand it’s hard to know where to even start. But besides many many sleepless nights, the word impossible was never uttered.
Anyway, as a good friend with my own spirit of entrepreneurship i’ve helped her team set-up a website with her very own back-end management system - www.arteasta.net. She can now not only create posts, slideshows videos, pages, but also create contributor users, who can submit articles for her to review and publish.
After that we need beautiful (well, at least my friends thought they are) images of her own clothing collection as well as other emerging designers. So, we had a few quick shoots here and there, and this is one of the outcomes you see today.
Following this she can expect sleepless nights of mingling with the media, the fashionistas, the VCs and whoever else is relevant to a fashion startup. But at the end of it all, all it took to get started is an idea, a brand, a website and a few awesome pics!
I love to see a company grow from the ground up, and I hope this one goes far.
